It’s time to take a long, hard look at where we’re headed as a society. No, really — we’ve got office chairs coming to kill comradeship, specially designed lapboards made to keep you sedentary for as long as humanly possible, and now we’re looking at the perfect device for keeping Earthlings in bed for days on end.
The EasyChair WorkStation line of products essentially puts your laptop on wheels, and the adjustable boom arm ensures that you can reach the keys / trackpad regardless of which side you wake up on. We’re hearing a bedpan attachment is in the works as well, but we’re feeling entirely too lazy to actually check.

Good old Darth Vader never fails to impose himself, and this time the Sith Lord comes in the form of a USB hub. Of course, his chest controls are no longer fancy LED lights that blink randomly, but instead reveal themselves to be a quartet of USB 2.0 ports (presumably - who deals with 1.1 these days anyways).
Good thing the €43 you pay for this doesn’t result in just a deadpan USB 2.0 bust, but Darth Vader’s head will automatically come to life the moment he is hooked up to a computer. His eyes will glow red, while his famous breathing sound comes into play as he moves his head around.
We’re fortunate in a way that his hands are not there to Force Choke us whenever we start killing time at work by checking out our Facebook account instead of crunching numbers.

Well what do you know, ZDNet’s German bureau has apparently released a functioning overlocking tool (ZDNet Clock) for Mac Pros and Xserves. Vater Steve doesn’t look kindly upon such things, but with a little luck (and a lot of cooling) you might be able to eke out a few hundred extra MHz from your aluminum clad box without tipping off any Geniuses the next time you bring it in for repair. Unfortunately, for the time being it only appears to work on newer Pros and Xserves — not laptops or iMacs — running the latest release of Leopard.

Following months of rumors, speculation, and – most of all – waiting, Sony has officially unveiled version 2.40 of the PlayStation 3’s operating system and XrossMediaBar (XMB) interface. Joystiq got a look at it in action last week and can finally unzip our lips about what we saw.
In a nutshell, the update introduces most of the features we’ve seen floating around as rumors for some time. Here’s the short list of what you can now do without exiting from games:
- In-game XMB (a quick tap of the PS button brings it up)
- View game-specific trophies
- Time / date display
- Send text messages to PSN users on your friends list
- Access accessory settings, such as Bluetooth pairing and voice changer
- View and manage downloads
- Quits game directly from an icon under the “Game” section of the XMB
- Search the web using the Google Search option under “Network” (similar to the latest PSP firmware)
- Launch directly into another game from the one you’re currently playing
- Play music tracks stored on the HDD in games that support this feature
- Access a new on-screen music player interface (when listening to your own tracks in supported titles)

I unfortunately missed Daft Punk’s Alive tour last year, so the first time I saw them wearing their awesome electroluminescent suits was at the Grammy Awards where they performed with Kanye West. And probably like a lot of other people, I realized my own wardrobe could definitely benefit from the electroluminescent treatment, but since I have no experience with glowing clothing I abandoned the idea. But it turns out that the person responsible for Daft Punk’s getup has actually put together a fairly in-depth tutorial on Instructables so anyone can make their own.

Have you seen these EcoHangers yet? Eco-Hangers are dry cleaning hangers that are made from 100% recycled paper and are 100% recyclable after use. According to the manufacturer, unlike “cheap wire hangers made outside of the U.S.,” EcoHangers are made here in the U.S. in EPA-regulated plants. The plants conform to both OSHA and EPA carbon emission standards as well as wastewater discharge standards. As an alternative to wire hangers that often end up in the trash, these seems like a better deal, except for one thing, they are covered in advertising for all kinds of things, just like wire hangers. Oh well.
